奖学金

All students admitted to the 荣誉学院 students will receive some form of financial 支持. Entering freshmen will automatically receive the Honors Scholar Award, 和 rising juniors will receive the Honors Keystone Scholar Award when they begin the 重点课程. The Southern Miss Honors Pledge begins: "As a member of the University of Southern Mississippi 荣誉学院, I commit myself to serve as a leader 和 role model in the university community, maintaining high st和ards of academic integrity, personal 品行端正，九游会国际公民." 荣誉住房

When you start Southern Miss as a freshman, you'll live with other honors students in 凡大厅, part of our beautiful Century South complex, so there will always be a friend nearby. In addition, as an Honors Scholar, you'll have 24-7 access to the 荣誉的房子 student lounge, which has a coffee maker, a popcorn popper, games, comfy chairs, 和 the computer room, which houses several computers 和 a printer.

One of the major benefits of 荣誉学院 membership is the careful attention 和 guidance provided to Honors Scholars by our academic advisors, who'll help you select classes, formulate a plan for your research project, find 和 use Southern Miss 和 社区资源. Expert advisors will also help you to prepare for a career or entrance into graduate, law or medical school.

Why wait until graduate school to start research projects that fascinate you? 在 荣誉学院, we believe students should start now, so we build it into the curriculum. Our faculty mentors are committed to helping students develop the skills they'll need to complete degree requirements 和 their honors theses—skills they will use throughout their future careers: the ability to think through complex ideas, write clearly 和 eloquently, 和 execute a project of their design.

Our students come back from Southern Miss Study Abroad programs reporting that it was the best time of their lives, 和 helped them not only appreciate the countries they traveled to, but also develop a new appreciation for home. 荣誉学者 highly encouraged to study abroad, 和 we'll do everything we can to help you locate scholarships to make your trip affordable. 

Nationally Competitive Awards Office

There are a plethora of national awards 和 scholarships available to students, 和 we want our students to compete for them. The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards helps students identify awards dedicated to study abroad, research, 和 graduate school 机会. The director for nationally competitive programs 和 awards will work with students one-on-one to develop the strongest applications possible 和 guide them through the application process.
